PT BMU Successfully Holds Anniversary, Presents Transformation Towards Becoming UB's Main Financial Pillar

Malang – PT Brawijaya Multi Usaha (BMU) celebrated its 2nd anniversary with brilliant achievements. Held at the Samantha Krida Building, Universitas Brawijaya, this Anniversary celebration served as a platform to demonstrate the progressive transformation of campus business through the presentation of its 2025 Annual Report, Friday (9/1/2026).

The lively event was attended by the leadership of Universitas Brawijaya, strategic partners, and all PT BMU employees. Management utilized this two-year milestone to reflect on the significant growth across various business lines, which are now increasingly solid.

In a short period, PT BMU demonstrated a quantum leap. Starting with managing 7 business units, by early 2026, PT BMU now oversees 14 business units and 1 subsidiary. This growth is rooted in consistent and professional Human Resources (HR) management. The President Director of PT BMU, Dr. Edi Purwanto, S.TP., M.M., asserted that this operational achievement is clear evidence of the synergy across all units. "This rapid growth is not merely a number, but rather the result of innovative operational digital services that have made the company's system far more organized, transparent, and accountable," stated Dr. Edi in his presentation.

PT BMU's achievements also garnered prestigious external recognition. Throughout 2025, the company was entrusted by the Ministry of Manpower of Indonesia (Kemnaker RI) to implement the Maganghub program. Furthermore, PT BMU won the Anugerah Times Indonesia (ATI) 2025 award in The Innovation Hub Award category as Excellent University Owned Company with Progressive Growth.

Financially, PT BMU recorded a very healthy performance. Notably, revenue growth reached 33.8% with a profit increase of 41.2%. Other profitability indicators also showed a positive trend, with Return on Equity (ROE) growing 22.31% and Return on Assets (ROA) surging 53.84% in the last two years.

"Our strength also lies in collaboration. Currently, we have partnered with over 100 strategic partners, ranging from MSME actors to international-scale business entities," added Dr. Edi.

As a company that grows with the community, PT BMU continues to prioritize social responsibility. In the last two years, the total Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) funds disbursed reached Rp763 million, allocated for scholarships for outstanding students and social assistance for residents around the campus. Looking to the future, PT BMU has restructured into six Strategic Business Units (SBU), namely: Hospitality & Services, Food & Beverage, Business Innovation, Edu Sport, PT Brawijaya Core Indonesia, and PT Brawijaya Agro Indonesia.

Dr. Edi also presented the 2026–2030 strategic roadmap with a grand vision. "We aim for PT BMU to become the main pillar of Universitas Brawijaya's revenue by 2030, through strong and sustainable Good Corporate Governance (GCG)," he affirmed optimistically.

The celebration concluded with a tumpeng cutting ceremony by the President Director alongside the Rectorate officials of Universitas Brawijaya. The university expressed high appreciation for the dedication of all BMU staff in realizing a modern, competitive, and financially independent campus business ecosystem.
