Off-Campus Business Expansion of PT Brawijaya Multi Usaha through BREWi JAYA Coffee

Pasuruan - After a year of operating and focusing on the campus environment, PT Brawijaya Multi Usaha is now expanding its wings by launching Brewi Jaya outside the Universitas Brawijaya (UB) area. PT Brawijaya Multi Usaha held the Grand Opening of BREWi JAYA coffee and eatery at Rest Area Travoy Hub 66A Tol Pandaan Malang on Monday (17/03/25). This strategic location is one of the category A rest areas owned by Jasa Marga.

This expansion marks an important step for PT BMU as it enters its second year, demonstrating the company's commitment to not only serve the academic community but also reach a wider market. The event was attended by leaders of Universitas Brawijaya and Jasa Marga Related Business (JMRB), including vice rectors, deans, BPU directors, and PT BMU management as well as the Director of Business of PT JMRB, Bayu Nurbaya. This agenda included not only the Grand Opening but also the Commemoration of Nuzulul Quran and Iftar together.

President Director of PT BMU, Dr. Edi Purwanto, S.TP., M.M., said that even though BREWi JAYA has officially started operations, they will continue to perfect various aspects that are still lacking. He highlighted several advantages of this café, including its strategic location with 360-degree views and disability-friendly design. Not only that, BREWi JAYA also offers typical Malang menu items, such as bakso and coffee sticky rice, as culinary attractions. For visitor comfort, there is a children's play area and massage chairs on the second floor, complementing the rest facilities in this rest area.

As an independent unit under the management of UB Coffee, BREWi JAYA has ambitious expansion plans. Edi Purwanto revealed that PT BMU plans to build a BREWi JAYA outlet at Rest Area Jagorawi, Jakarta, which is projected to start operating in early July 2025. The concept at this new location will integrate various land transportation modes such as LRT, Damri, and Busway, making it a wider and integrated culinary destination for travelers.

With this launch, PT BMU hopes that BREWi JAYA can become a top choice for visitors looking for a place to relax and enjoy cuisine along the journey, while also introducing the rich culinary specialties of Malang.
